Do Residential Mobile Homes and Holiday Caravans differ?
Holiday Caravans, built for occasional holiday and weekend use and are of a lighter construction than Residential Mobile, or 'Park Homes' as they are now called. Park Homes enjoy a much sturdier build quality with domestic quality plasterboard walls and ceilings, central heating and double glazing, under-floor insulation and plumbing for washing machines as standard. Many Park Homes arrive from the factory in two halves, to be fitted together on the park to create a very spacious 'twin unit'.
So what is the Four Horseshoes Park?
Nestled in the heart of Graveney village, just a couple of miles from the market town of Faversham, is this Quality Award Winning Mobile Home Park. Just forty six homes, each with its own fenced garden makes for a tranquil and delightful setting on the park for residents, who are all of retirement age. Buses stop opposite the park entrance, and Faversham and Whitstable are about three miles in either direction. Each dwelling is an Omar Home - Britain’s leading manufacturer of Park Homes.
What are the outgoings?
The annual pitch fees for 2010 are £1,572 for 'twin units' and £1,380 for 'singles', payable monthly in advance, electricity and gas are invoiced alternate months, and all is payable by direct debit. Water is inclusive in the pitch fee but sewerage is charged by Southern Water to every homeowner direct, as is Council Tax, levied by Swale Borough Council.
